The nickname “Joe the Plumber”
Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (born December 3, 1973) is a conservative activist, writer and commentator. A resident of Holland, Ohio, United States, which received much attention during the U.S. presidential elections 2008 after he was videotaped questioning then Democratic candidate Barack Obama about his small business tax policy during a campaign rally in Ohio. As an employee of a plumbing contractor, was given the nickname “Joe the Plumber“. The Republican McCain-Palin campaign later use “Joe the Plumber” as a metaphor for the American middle class.
